Sher Christian:

• Taught poetry and creative writing for Sierra College, Emeritus Program (Seniors) 2003-05.
• Currently completing a compact disc of my poetry with john's musical accompaniment (Sweet Tongue)
• Authored my book in Microsoft Word, Star-Kissed Shadows, Divining Poetry, published 2004.
• Presented and performed many poetry readings with accompanying keyboard music and sound effects by John Christian, 2000 to 2005.
• Published poetry in newsletters and a magazine.
• Worked as an exercise companion for a young man with head trauma. 1990 to 2000.
• Performed and wrote stories Fairy Moon Dreams, & Dance of the Flower Fairies with singing, Celtic harp for kindergarten classes with keyboard music by John Christian, 1995 to 1996.
• Taught child and adult seminars, offered consultations, and authored articles for
newsletters and local papers on health education, personal growth 1984 to 1999.

John Christian

John began playing piano at age ten. He composed and played the music for his CD, Behind The Mask, an uplifting blend of inspirational, jazz, and world music performed on grand piano, synthesizer, saxophone, hand drums and acoustic instruments. A resident of Nevada County for 25 years, John played keyboard for the popular band, RAYO. He has created and performed music for radio commercials, videos, and plays. John was the music director and keyboardist for The Sierra Center for Positive Living in 2005. His musical accomplishments include playing in a rock band in Hawaii that warmed up for Loggins & Messina and other main acts to chanting and singing bajhans in the Indian Himalayas.
John accompanies Sher Christian’s poetry with keyboard music and sound effects in styles that include Cajun, rhythm and blues, jazz, and boogie-woogie. Their compact disc Sweet Tongue will be released this Summer. Sher and John were featured at The Nevada County Poetry Series in June, 2003 and Valentine Erotique at The North Columbia Cultural Schoolhouse, 2004 and 2005. They perform at bookstores, open mics, and for groups, weddings, memorials, celebrations, and other events.
